Spirituality often becomes increasingly important as people approach the end-of-life. Sometimes, unresolved emotional or spiritual distress can cause physical pain and discomfort.
Hospice of Guernsey’s chaplain and volunteers are available to talk with patients, provide communion, read scripture, pray, or just be a calming presence. They are trained to respond by listening in a non-judgmental way. Learning what we can about the patient’s unique spirituality so our team can find the best way to offer support. Our team members also make every effort to work with the patient and family’s own pastor/clergy.
We feel privileged when our patients and loved one’s share their spiritual journeys with us.
